Wow… some of these are incredibly illogical. And some I agree with. So, because there were no magic bears and witches in 10th century Scotland, black people MUST have made an appearance in ‘Brave’? 

Really?

Okay, well, then /everything/ is racist because you think that way.

Me: *gets spoken to by some panhandler on the train* No, I ain’t giving you my money.
Panhandler: It’s cuz I’m black!
Me: Uh… no, it’s because panhandlers on MARTA are known to make 200 - 300 dollars a day and they don’t use that money to get themselves an actual job and enjoy taking money from people who actually work hard for it. 


But I’m racist. Because I’m white. And decided not to give money to a black panhandler.


Uh huh.


And white people have been enslaved before. And white people have been subject to racism.


Jesus Christ, tumblr is full of morons.  

why are these being made in the first place

I didn’t just make these out of the ether.

Each and every one of them is in response to an argument I’ve seen made by some dumb ass (usually white) person on my dashboard this week (and will most likely see made again next week, and the week after and the week after, and the week after)

I’ve seen people say racism ended with slavery, seen people not *get* (or choose to not understand) that something was racist once it was explained.

Say that slavery wasn’t that bad.

Glorify the image of a black slave woman being forced to breastfeed her masters white baby.

Deny the need for increased media representation.

Defend their right to use the n-word.

Completely ignore the fact that Scotland not only had non-white people but was RULED by them

And tell people to just “get over it.”

So yeah, these may seem like pithy little ways to discuss things that not a lot of people may not care about, but they only exist in response to massive amounts of ignorance I’ve witnessed firsthand. 

Oh, and I love how that above poster is getting all defensive about being a racist when no one called them a racist at all. Not a single one of those memes called anyone racist. Not a single god damn one. None of them even addressed white people (well, maybe philosoraptor.)

Hannibal lived on the African side of the Mediterranean, yes

But that doesn’t make him a “non-white person”, you see, Slavs on the Balkan Peninsula, Italians, Greeks, etc, are considered white by the very same people that like to think that people on the other side of the sea were not, when the fact remains that the Mediterranean is not large enough to constitute a completely different region. If Italians and Serbians are white, well, so was Hannibal.
